Need furnace replacement in Pittsburgh? Hoffner Heating & Air helps homeowners across Greater Pittsburgh and nearby Western Pennsylvania choose a properly sized system with clear, upfront pricing. Our team brings 35 years of combined HVAC experience.
Typical out-the-door ranges are $4,700–$6,500 for an 80% AFUE furnace and $5,100–$7,200 for a 96%+ single-stage furnace. Both include removal and disposal, tax, and a basic duct tie-in. Equipment sizing and additional modifications can affect the final estimate.
A furnace replacement should start with your home, not just the size of the old unit. We perform a load calculation to help properly size the new equipment, then assess duct sizing and airflow so the system can distribute heat as intended.
Our installation includes removing and disposing of the existing equipment and installation debris, building the plenum and transitions needed to tie the new furnace into your ductwork, and completing a full startup and commissioning. We verify gas pressures and perform combustion analysis to check safe, proper operation. If your home needs work beyond a basic duct tie-in, we explain the added scope before you approve it.
After startup, we walk you through the new system and applicable warranty coverage. Manufacturer registration and terms apply. Some qualifying equipment includes a full system replacement guarantee; we confirm the coverage for the model you choose.

Real customer experience
Brian, a homeowner in the Churchill/Pittsburgh area, says Hoffner responded Monday and completed a furnace and A/C installation by Wednesday after other providers estimated waits of one to two weeks.
“Their pricing was fair, their team was great, and they were reliable and professional the entire way.”

Hey, let me tell you about a company that absolutely saved my family and me from frigid weather: Hoffner Heating and Air Conditioning. Our furnace went on a Friday night. I did some research. I called a couple companies. A lot of them said they couldn't get there for a week or two, including my home warranty. I called Hoffner. They were out on Monday and installed my furnace and A/C by Wednesday, less than 48 hours after first contact. Their pricing was fair, their team was great, and they were reliable and professional the entire way. I highly recommend them for anybody who has a family at home and needs the heat back on.

We calculate the home’s heating load, assess duct sizing and airflow, remove and dispose of the old equipment, and build the plenum and transitions needed for the new system’s basic duct tie-in. Startup includes verified gas pressures and combustion analysis. Any additional modifications are discussed before work is approved.
Typical out-the-door ranges are $4,700–$6,500 for an 80% AFUE furnace and $5,100–$7,200 for a 96%+ single-stage furnace. Both include removal and disposal, tax, and a basic duct tie-in. Equipment sizing and additional home-specific work affect the final estimate.
AFUE describes how much of a furnace’s fuel becomes usable heat under a standardized rating. A higher-efficiency furnace may need different venting and condensate handling. The best fit depends on your home, existing setup, and project budget; energy savings vary with use and fuel costs.
A single-stage furnace runs at one heating output. A two-stage model can run at a lower or higher output, while a modulating model can adjust across a wider range. These choices affect how the system responds to heating demand, comfort, equipment cost, and installation requirements. We can explain the differences for your home before you choose.
Standard manufacturer coverage includes 10-year parts and lifetime heat exchanger protection, subject to registration and the manufacturer’s terms. Some qualifying equipment also includes a full system replacement guarantee. Exact coverage varies by model, so we confirm it with your equipment selection.
