Safety & Troubleshooting FAQs

A carbon monoxide detector going off is a serious safety warning. It may indicate a problem with your furnace, fireplace, or another fuel-burning appliance, or it may be a detector issue. Leave the home, call your gas company or emergency services if you suspect a leak, and contact us to inspect your heating equipment before using it again.

A tripping breaker can be caused by electrical issues, a failing compressor, a short circuit, or an overloaded circuit. Do not repeatedly reset the breaker. Instead, schedule service so we can inspect your air conditioner and wiring and correct the underlying issue.

Before calling for service, check that your thermostat is set to the correct mode, the temperature is set properly, the furnace or AC switch is on, the breaker has not tripped, and your air filter is not severely clogged. If everything looks normal and the system still is not working, it is time to schedule a professional diagnosis.

If your home feels humid with the AC running, the system may be oversized, short-cycling, low on refrigerant, or not draining properly. In some cases, you may also benefit from a dedicated dehumidifier. We can evaluate your system and recommend solutions to improve comfort and humidity control.

Loud banging, screeching, grinding, or metal-on-metal noises are a sign of a problem and running the system may cause further damage. It is best to turn the system off and schedule service so we can find and fix the issue safely.
